Pruning Tips For Rhododendrons
My rhododendrons finished blooming a few weeks ago and now I am left with brown withered flowers. According to the American Rhododendron Society, it is desirable to dead-head large flowered rhododendrons but for smaller plants and azaleas it is unnecessary. Dead-heading will make your plants look more attractive, possibly reduce the presence of fungus and will encourage better flowering for the following year. To dead-head, pinch the dead flowers between your thumb and finger and twist off. For more rhododendron pruning tips visit the American Rhododendron Society website.
