Efficient Dishwasher Unloading

I came up with this idea and wanted to share it with you and get your feedback. While unloading the dishwasher and sorting the cutlery I thought it seemed inefficient (and annoying) to take each piece and put it into the appropriate slot in the cutlery drawer. I had an “A-HA!” moment and thought it would be faster to pre-sort the cutlery when putting them into the dishwasher. So I decided that the front 2 buckets would be for spoons, the middle 3 for forks and the back 2 for knives. Now when I unload I just grab a handful of each type and throw it in the drawer. Try it and tell me if you think it’s faster!

It is generally recommended to load your dishes so that there are gaps to allow water to spray all surface areas and thus clean it. If you pre-sort your cutlery, then your knives may stick together, and your spoons and forks may nest, causing inefficient cleaning since the water spray can’t get to the surfaces in between them.
