Trendy Vacuums
In our home we have a central vacuum system, which has completely eliminated the need for a regular vacuum cleaner. For other homeowners however, this purchase seems to carry some weight as a major household decision. I recently over heard friends discussing their latest vacuum purchase and I was curious to take a look at the products they selected.
One couple purchased a vacuum cleaner by Miele. First of all, the Miele vacuum cleaners look NICE! So nice, that I actually wished I needed one! With a modern ergonomic design, cool colors and product names like “Red Velvet” and “Flamenco” how can you go wrong? Not to mention they have a product called the “Cat & Dog Vacuum Cleaner” geared towards people who love their pet but not all the hair! I suspect the use of cute looking pets in their advertising campaign has also worked wonders.
So, despite the nice look of the Miele products do they actually do a good job? Well if the price tag on these pretty puppies is any indication then I would say yes. I have found a few reviews on the internet that all seem to say it is a ‘top-notch quality product’ and ‘you get what you pay for’. My favorite reviewer comment from epinions.com,“you will never come in second in a vacuum cleaner rumble with anyone – you can suck through to China with this baby on max”.
The other vacuum cleaner I heard about is called Roomba by irobot. This ‘intelligent vacuuming robot’ supposedly does all the cleaning for you, even when you are out. Sounds almost too good to be true. The reviews on this product are mixed, but the price tag is way less than the Miele. If you decide to give this robot a go you might also want to check out their floor washing robot, called the irobot Scooba. According to their site advertising, this robot preps, washes, scrubs, and dries your floors so you don’t have to. Hmm..right.
